Wow...maybe the 600RR's have the same cam chain tensioner problem like the F4i. Most folks switch it out for a manual one, but I'd take it back to the dealer and check if replacement is under warranty. I've changed the CCT on my F4i, sticking with the OEM CCT. Hasn't rattled since.

No, it doesn't...its a vibration that happens at a certain RPM and the location is between the fuel tank and the fuel tank cover. Some people have been putting padding in the suspected areas to solve their annoying problem.

Here's a discussion from another board about it:

I had the same noise on my 05 600RR, when I switched out the air filter for the K&N... I noticed to metal tabs that looked like they should have rubber stops in them. But they don't and when I compared the tabs to my tank cover, I noticed scratches... I bent the tabs all the way down and I now no longer have the noise. I did only notice it when I was cruising along at about 3k to 4k RPM’s as well. I guess that RPM range gave the right amount of vibration for the tabs to rub the cover.

when you hear the noise, press down on the tank cover area right in front of the fuel lid, if it stops... take the cover off and bend the tabs down, or try to find rubber stops for it, I guess this is one that Honda slipped on.

I can't relate to that one, mine sounds fine. I was thinking maybe the clutch bearings that spin while your at rest (not under a load) but that goes away if the clutch is pulled. Sounds like a trip with your warranty papers in hand to the dealership.... good luck.
