chain question
does anybody know the measurement of how tense my chain should be? i know to measure it i just stick a ruler on the ground and push the chain up...but i totally have no idea of when the chain should stop going up. i'd imagine it should only have a couple inches of slack...maybe i'm wrong. any suggestions? i'm about to jump into the manual now.

RE: chain question
Straight out the manual:
DRIVE CHAIN SLACK INSPECTION
Turn the ignition switch to â€OFFâ€, place the motorcycle
on its side stand and shift the transmission into
neutral.
Check the slack in the drive chain lower run midway
between the sprockets.
CHAIN SLACK: 40 - 50 rnrn (1.6 - 2.0 in)
Turn the ignition switch to â€OFFâ€, place the motorcycle
on its side stand and shift the transmission into
neutral.

RE: chain question
you know...i tried to download the manual the other day and for some reason i can't. it kept on saving a firefox link icon to my desktop but that's it. i tried using internet explorer and it still didn't work...instead of save target as i got something completely different whenever i right clicked the link posted. i'm still trying to figure it out...i'll probably be able to do it at one of the computers at school...
