Sounds good, ask if it had the steering-head upgrade. It was a factory recall or TSB.

Honda offered a product update (TSB - Technical Service Bulletin) -- not to be confused with a recall -- for the '02 954RR, swapping the tapered rollers originally installed in the 954's steering head for ball bearings "to enhance handling during high-speed use such as closed-course competition on a racetrack."

Wasn't needed on the '03.

Default Not enuf room for ball bearings in steer head

Frames are rubber . all steer heads need tapered rollers .

***** would need to be 3/8" diameter to handle the load ,

theres NOT enuf room for 3/8 diam' ***** .

The lower roller needs a angle "7" , upper has so little load ,

it does not matter .

I prefer trail of 2.8 inches . We tolerate 4.3 to 4.5 , cause

they "know" better ...

A racer can feel the front end better , with little caster ( trail ) .

He must pull hard on bars to keep it turning , with 4.3" trail .
