Hey everyone, I just Purchased an 03 954RR... Everytime I turn on the right blinker the headlight shuts off, but the blinker blinks fine. The left blinker works fine and the headlight stays on as it is supposed to... I've been trying to trouble shoot this all weekend and im getting nowhere... any input is appriciated... Thanks in advance.

 

how's the wiring?Did someone cut the wires?Not enough info yet.

 

no splicing... integrated tail light, and flush mount blinkers... direct plug in already equiped with resistors... blinkers blink fine on both sides... when the blinkers are off they stay on in the front for the running lights like they're supposed to... only problem is when i turn on the right blinker the headlight goes out, highbeam as well, but the right blinker still blinks like its supposed to.... Left blinker is perfectly fine, headlight stays on... I had the whole bike apart today... ran through the wiring harness to make sure there were no shorts... I'm lost...

 

I dont think its a relay...?

Haha... thats pretty much what i've been doing, but inspection is due... need them fixed...

 

what about your switch... just a though. if it isnt relays wiring ect... must be switch

 

Yeah, I thought about that too... I completely dissassembled the switch and nothing jumped out at me, but im going to replace it and see if it does anything... Thanks for your reply...

 

Problem solved, it was the switch... Completely dissassembled the switch and i noticed when I switched the right blinker on the headlight would go out because the switch was worn on that side and the headlight was loosing ground... So what i did was tap the ground wire and the headlight wire together, now everything works perfect...
