I have a 99 f4. When I am out riding and the bke heats up and then come to a stop it shuts down. I have replaced the stater, iginition module,got a tune up and it still shuts down. Is anyone else having this problem? Anybody know what the problem is? Can anyone tell me how to fix it?

 

try fuel pump that seems to be the most common problem for that complaint

 

Replaced the fuel pump and the bike still shuts down. Any other ideas to help solve this problem?

I have a manual to try and trouble shoot. But I have even taken the bike back to honda and they cant figure it out either. So we are both at a total loss for trying to figure this problem out

 

my bike acts up too. when im on the highway for a little bit and then let off to come to a stop my bike dies. it always fire right back up though. by the way it only has 900 miles

 

My girlfriends 99 F4 does the same thing when ridden in hot weather in stop and go traffic. The fan works and the bike otherwise runs good. I'm gonna try to flush the coolant system and replace the thermostat. I can't believe the dealership can't correctly troubleshoot this. I'll post as soon as I figure out what the hell is going on. make suer your choke is working properly that will make it shut down if the choke is on when the bike is warm

 

Yeah that's about right
had to replace my Fuel Pumper but she's perfect now, I second that suggestion
Try ebay, they have new and used ones for F4's online for decent prices
