Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. I wish I could have paid cash for the bike, but i didn't have 6g's sitting around. I have to find the cheapest insurance I can to offset the bike payment. I mentioned earlier I am married. I have a porshe 944 I am going to sell to take a chunk out of the bike or pay something else off. I think I will try state farm I have a few other leads. Thanks everyone for the posts.

dont take a loan on a bike at a bank
That's what I did for my past 2 bikes. Got a PERSONAL loan from the bank. They asked what it was for and my dad had an instant reaction and just said, "for the money." They just laughed and didn't ask anything else

Ya when I tried to find insurance for my '04 600rr Geico said it would be $4500 a year then we found out that that was for my dad and not even me... (that was also before their motorcycle program)

This isn't too bad though... (From Geico)

Yep, State Farm rocks. I just fear they will figure out what everyone else is charging and raise their rates. I pay $319 a year for my 954RR with full coverage, 28 y/o single guy, with no accidents or tickets. I moved my cars and renter's insurance to them because they won't just cover a bike. Progressive and Geico wanted more than double that for a 600!

I also have state farm. Right now i have WA insurance and pay 270 a year for all the coverage. And that is only with a car on my policy. So I dont even get the multi line discount. State Farm does not make any money on motorcycle insurance. They do it as a service for their customers. They do it AT COST. That is why you have to switch and have at least one more policy with them. I had to put my truck and minivan on with them. It was $10 more a month but then they gave me free renters insurance at the time which was normally $17, so I call it even. That and GEICO who I had before wanted 3600 a year. I laughed at his face and cancelled the next day.
