Exclamation Post Your bike Insurance: Age, Company, coverage, price

Hi guys, first off I want to say I'm new to this site and riding in general. Just bought an 02 CBR 600 f4i about a month ago and I love it. My only problem is my insurance which seems crazy high, I'm paying about $95 a month for the bare minimum liability just to keep it legal. I have a clean driving record and I have a car insured with them.. been with them since I was 16. Is this average?? Post your insurance company, rates, coverage, age. I want to see if I should switch or not.

I'm a 23 year old male > Clean Record > insured by Geico > paying $95 a month for base liability on my bike > 02 Honda CBR 600 F4i

Post your info

23 m - Currently A few tickets on my record - Progressive - $70 liability- 92 600 F2 - Live in SoCal

Your higher price may have to do with the model yr of the bike (since its alot newer), and/or the place you live. Call around and get quotes.

Yea that was my first thought too but from my understanding liability won't pay to fix my bike at all if I tear it up so I didn't see why a newer bike would be higher for liability. **** my dad only pays 30 every 2 months full coverage on his cruiser lol also geico.

I guess the way that they see it is that the newer a bike is, the more powerfull it becomes. More power= more speed + reckless riding = more accidents........ Maybe?

Hello,
I'm 28yrs old. I have progressive and I pay $46.50/month for full coverage on my 2009 KLR650 and liability on my '95 CBR1000F.
When I just had the 1000F, it was $169/YR for liability.
If I wanted full coverage on both bikes, it would be $73.25/month.

Until you hit 27yrs old, you're gonna pay more. However, that still seems a little bit high to me.
As others have said, where you live can have a significant impact on your rate, too. I live in rural PA, but I know it's more in the cities (theft, vandalism, traffic, etc.)
