I have a 2002 CBR954 with about 20800 miles. when I start it up it runs for about a min then it hits about 130 degrees and shuts off and doesn't start up again for awhile. I don't know much about bikes but cant afford to take it to the dealer so hopefully I can fix this myself. I get regular maintence done every 2000 miles. if anyone has any answer or any questions for me please respond and i'll answer whatever questions i can for you. Also I feel like my bike is burning or leaking oil somewhere but I don't see any oilleaks when I park it.

Could use more info though, first any mods? does it make any noise when it shuts off? how long is a while? when you go to restart does it sound normal? can you hear the fuel pump kicking on? any further details you can give will help.

 

I am having the same problem soon as the bike goes over 140 degrees F the bike with just turn off and I can't start for at least a day or so. Also runs and idles just fine but then all of sudden just shuts off and I can't start it again. I have changed the spark plugs unhooked my power commander. Any suggestions on what the problem could be?

 

does it die roughly or shut off like you just turned the key off?

 

shuts off like I just turned the key or the kill switch, all the gauges and lights remain on.

 

Give TK the info he is asking for... I have a thought but i dont want to start stabbing at it yet. Lets get some more info.
