954 Gas Tank Help
I have a problem with a blocked brass/ss line located in the gas tank (inlet is exposed under neath the lid). I think it is a drain for any trapped water underneath the gas lid. My questions:
Is it really a drain or a breather hole? I looked under the gas tank and I'm suspecting that one of outlets (smallest diameter) is the opposite. Tried pushing plastic through only to get stuck at some point.
Id like to know exactly where the brass line is going. I'm gonna try to unplug any debris in there. . .so that any gas or water is drained. Or shall I leave it alone . . .

i think that is the gas overflow in case you fill a little too much. I would think that you deff want to get that cleared out. do you have any idea what is clogging it, sometimes simple chemicals can clear a plug or compressed air, but you want to make sure you dont screw up so think it all the way through first.
Thanks HC. My thoughts as well. I've sprayed some corrosion/rust solvent in there and will be blowing some compressed air in a couple of days. I hope whatever is in there blows out and confident that it will. Again, appreciate the help.
Man I feel like a dope. It turned out that the flex line was kinked. To much slack underneath the tank created an80 degree bend sealing passage.MENTAL NOTE to myself . . . look at the most basic things first.
lol well that will happen to the best of us. Is that the gas overflow? should just run down below the bike where it can spill out safely if so. just make sure that solvent did not make any holes in the line so there is not fuel spilling all over your engine if you do over fill.
