Default 02 954 have title not PA notarized & can't register

The title basically says it all. The previous owner did not get the title notarized, and I was a dummy and did not look it up to know that I had to do so. Now that I have deleted his phone number, and then looked it up on white pages on the internet, and found the exact name and address as is on the title with a phone number! too bad the number is now disconnected. I have already gone to the DMV and all she did was hand me the registration papers and say it has to be notarized in PA and sent me away. I am looking for some advice or a clear answer on what can be done.
Thanks for reading.

So you and the owner have to sign the title in front of a notary? You know where he lives, so get it notarized. Unless something isn't on the up and up or he is a total douche, it shouldn't be a problem. I'd have no issues doing it or even applying for a new title for anyone that bought my motorcycle.

I don't even know if he lives there anymore. From where I am to Philly, its about a 7 hour drive. The number is disconnected now. I have no way of contacting him other than taking the chance of driving down there.. All 14 hours haha

I would put some pictures up if I knew how, but I'm a noob. The bike was worth the drive when I heard it run haha. It started out with a rusted and dented up gas tank, flat tires, broken tail/brake light, no headlight, turn signals or horn, and wires just dangling. I've fixed her up pretty good. Now it's time to get it on the road.

get someone to file a mechanics lean on it, and you should get new paperwork to title it.

So I just have to find a licensed motorcycle mechanic that will file a mechanics lien?

Try sending him a letter explaining the issue.
