Default Variable Air Intake thingy Question

Okay so I was changing my spark plugs and I thought you had to take the air intake flapper mabobber off to get the bottom of the air box off. Anyway, when I went to put it back together we can't figure out where the spring goes to get it to have tension to where it'll stay up when there's no throttle and go down when the throttle is applied. Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially pics (I checked the shop manual, but it didn't help too much unless I'm looking up the wrong term).

Thanks.

LOL I thought about just doing that but then I didn't know if it would make my engine bog down... damn we spent like 30 min trying to get that stupid spring in place, lol.

And do you mean physically remove it or just leave it down? How do you physically remove it when there's a cable attached to it (sorry I left my bike at my friends house I would run down to check it).

Take the whole thing out. I left the cable in and attached at the solenoid, though you can remove the cable as well and it won't matter. Maybe some bugs will crawl in your airbox while it's parked.
