Default 03 600RR air intake question

So I take the front bodywork off of my brother's 03 600RR to change out his fork oil. I also had removed the front plastic ram air intake. i'm now in the process of putting this back together and i'm overly frustrated with the ram air plastic bits and the upper fairing meshing together. This whole front design is the biggest POS i've ever encountered on a Honda.

what kind of performance gain or loss is experienced "IF" the front ram tubes are removed?

stock air filter, micron slip on, no evidence of a power commander, stock engine.

Im not a super mechanic but by taking away the items that guide air to the engine i would imagine your going to have a crappy running motor.

+1. Put them back in. The air is going to go into the motor and disperse instead of being guided, and then before you know it you're running rich. Put em in. It is a pain though. I agree.

At idle nothing will change. I bet it's very noticable at highway speeds.
