Default straight pipe?

ive seen 929s with just a straight pipe dumping out infront of the rear wheel, will that hurt the motor, or the performance of the motor?

You might screw up the valves that way.

Birde, ya !!!!!!!!!!!! deafening, it sure does wake up the nieghborhood !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was buff'n out my tailpipe and smuffler, last week. I couldn't resist, start'n 'er up!!!!!!!!!!!! SCHWIIIING!!!!!!!!!!!
Therorys... Altho less back preasure helps at some rpms... it is serriously detrimental to the curves(power/torque) usualy make'n a "hole big enough to drive an elephant thru"!!!!!!!!!! Over scavenging(lack of back preasure) of the intake charge, is like fushing power down the drain(and gas). Probably would be good on the freeway, IF, the jetting were "spot on", but probably kill the low speed torque. Cops hear you always, leeding to ride'n slower, almost everywhere... no fun !!!!!!!!! The burnt valve gig, is a legit concern too. Tractability(ease of thottle roll on and ridability) would suffer too, probably becomeing whats referd to, as "notchy" Leading to alot more clutch, to ease transition, then leading to glazed plates and replacment, early. Possible lightening of front wheel in corners, fun, but not condusive to truely being smooth and fast. Then, that cop thing again... Clean and free, Ripp'n
