This is my seond 929 and both had the same kind of sound; Sounds like loose valves (which it isn`t) or a knocking/pinging sound, mostly on acceleration. Can it be that power/exhaust valve set-up on the stock exhaust system? Is it, over time, noted for being a bit "rap-tap" clackynoisey? These sounds are driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!!

 

I do believe that if you use the search function on this board, you will find that 929s are freakin crazy with noises. There are at least 100 different confusing noises that these bikes make. They are just known for them.

Hmm...so I guess I really have nothing to worry about, then? Something keeps telling me it is from that exhaust valve body mech. on the exhaust. Are there moving parts/butterfly valves in there that can make noise from exhaust pulses? The clatter sounds like it, but what do I know! Lol!
