hey everyone quick question. my 929 has a yoshi system , K&N and a power commander 2... with these mods should i be uping my fuel grade (in cali we have 87,89,91... yes we have other in certian places but these are the most common)

 

what is your compression ratio? Typicaly I run the highest octane I can find because it will keep the insides of the engine cleaner. Anything over 9:1 will benifit from higher octane. Once you reach 11:1 then anything less than 91 is a very bad idea.

 

my 929 is similar just with an erion exhaust, i use 91.....seems to be what it likes

 

well im concerned because @ about 4k-5k rpms i get this really weird and loud "ZzZzZzZz" sound , i thouhgt it might have to do with the motor if im not using the right gas.

 

Mine seems to like 94 a lot.

I was thinking today, as I filled up, just how bad our North American fuel supply is. In Europe, Australia, and else where, you can get 98 at the pumps. And we have to put up with this cat's p*ss ..

I run 93 all the time at $3.89 a gal.

 

I have a sticker on my bike in the trunk that says no less than 91 octane is reccomended
