over heating in 70 degree weather?
So this saturday me and a couple of my buddies went out for a ride. It was about 70 degrees out and we had only been riding for about 20 mins when i look down and see my temp has gone up to about 220 degrees. we stop for a break and i let the bike cool back down after hearing the antifreeze jug its boiling and poping. After I let her cool down we take off again and the bike starts climbing in temp again. I noticed its when we are only going below 50mph that the temp will climb up to about 200+ but once we start goin 60-70mph+ that it will start to cool itself back down to about 180-190. It just seems very odd to me that its doing this because it has never done this before and only a couple weeks ago a bunch of us when on 100+ mile ride when it was about 85 degrees out and never once did the temp go over 194 degrees. Just wondering if anybody has had a problem like this before? Or if anybody has and suggestions on what i should be looking for as a problem or how to fix this...Thank you

Is the fan comming on?? I am a automotive tech and i dont know for sure on bikes but on cars some times the radiator cap goes bad and dosent hold the pressure like it should, and will cause it to boil and pop in the coolant jug. i think it should work the same way though. these are just the first two things that popped into my head. hope they maybe help.

Checked the cap seemed to be on there good..then i moved to the fan and found out that when the person who owned it before me dumped it (i knew that when i bought it) they pushed the radiator over a lil so it was hitting the fan there for the fan wouldnt move. Anyway the fuse is good and i got the fan moving free again an ther is power going to the fan but it doesnt work. So my guess is the fan motor burnt out from not being able to move?
