i have a 2000 929rr, she has a pc3 and has been geared 1 down in front 3 up in rear with a full leo vince exhaust, is seems to me that she runs kinds hot, this is my first bike with an accual read out of the temp so it could be normal, but i was wondering what everybody elses run at? mine wants to hover around 200 unless i am really moving the 183. is this bout normal?

yup thats fine the fan doesn't come on till about 215. don't worry till you get about 235. Although I normally run about 175-180, if you want peace of mind flush it and put some of the antifreeze that makes it run cooler. I know wix makes some as well as other manufactures.

 

+1 on what bubba said. My bike sits normally around 179~183 while cruising, and can get to 200~205 in traffic and the such. Another brand i have seen at Honda dealers as far as the coolant additive goes is a pink fluid called water wetter. I used to use it in my '02 CR 250 just for peace of mind, cant really speak of any proven results though....Dirt bike, no temp gauge. Sounds like your CBR is running healthy though, nothing to worry about at those temps
