So I just bought my '00 929 a couple days ago, and its amazing. Its about 80lbs lighter than my '93 gsxr 750 and handles like a dream. I think I'm going to be extremelyhappy with this motorcycle. Got one question so far though.. Thebacklight on my gauges turns on when I press the starter button (with the kill switch on or off) butotherwise its off. Is there a way to turn the backlight onand off, if sohow?or is it always supposed to be on. Thanks in advance.
The back light of your guages should come on when you either turn the key to the on position, or activate the kill switch and then turn the key. They should not be affected with the functioning of the starter button. Sounds like you might have a small electrical gremlin if I'm reading what your saying correctly.
Thx, I'm waiting on some flush mounts to arrive and then its out with the test light... The previous owner didn't have the turn signals or high beam hooked up, weird that the backlight on the gauges dont work though..
