Newb here. Hello everyone
Hey everyone, Just wanted to introduce myself. I have a 1997 CBR F3, and I am about to buy a 2008 CBR 1000rr. I have other bikes but that is another story. I am a sicko when it comes to bikes. I have tried pretty much all types of bikes and I have now decided to own Hondas. Something snapped when I watched "Twist the Throttle" on TV and I was so impressed at the manufacturing process I told myself I would get a Honda.
Anyways, I have already found a ton of good info on this website and I know that it is only the tip of the iceberg. Looking forward to chatting with you all.
Cheers!!!

Hey welcome aboard!
Given the near howitzer proof level that Honda motorcycles seem to achieve (I have an F3 that sat for 2-3 years uncovered with the gas in and started on the 2nd try) I dunno why anyone would choose anything but Honda. Especially given the lack of maintenance most previous owners give their bikes
Let's see what yours looks like. I'm on a F4i now but I still have the F3 in the driveway (half assembled)

hi & welcome to CBRF!
Nice F3,she looks in great shape! COngrats
I've watched the TTT shows also......great insight into each manufacturer. Sometimes I wish the people that own Honda cars should watch that episode......most of them dont know that Honda built motorcycles first!
Anywho..thanx for the pics and enjoy the forum

Thanks! Here is a picture of my new 2009 CBR1000RR Repsol. Just got her yesterday and am working on breakin right now. Not my first New bike, but my first Brand new Honda. Any recommendations on break in? The owners manual only says, "paying extra attention to how you ride during the first 300 miles. Avoid full throttle starts and rapid acceleration. I wonder what that is? My rapid acceleration my be more so than others. Hmm, anyways.

Hey there Terminator, ya don't scare me
I will just call you Termy for now ..lol
Your bike looks great, I love the repsols ... as for the running in,
just use half the engine revs for the first 300 miles and don't labour the engine.
Modern manufacturing of engines now requires very little "break in" procedure,
a far cry from days of old where you did 1000 gentle miles and gradually upped the pace.
Take care and good luck with the bike

Actually, the first oil change is about 700 miles, you don't get all that "nasty stuff" these days ... but when it's your own bike you can never do too many oil changes ... well, yes you can actually if you changed it every 500 miles it would be rather a waste ... ack, ya know what I mean
