Default Front Brake Switch

Hi, I did a search for front brake switch, but I didn't find what I was looking for.

My problem is that the brake lights will stay on unless I mess around with the brake lever. I have the service manual in electronic version, and it doesn't mention much about the front switch besides it is not adjustable. My question is, should I replace the switch, or is there an adjustment that might make a difference on the handle?

And I do know for a fact it is not the rear switch, that one works fine.

Thanks

Check the mounting bolt, if you push the lever away from you does the lights go low? sounds like your lever might be sticking. I had that issue when i replaced mine with aftermarket chrome ones. I just took it back off and sanded the area where the bolt runs through to free it up.....

If I push the lever away, sometimes it will make the lights go low. Actually, with the bike off I can hear a tiny click from when the switch is tripped or goes open again. Pulling the lever forward works about 50% of the time. From what I can tell, the lever is not sticking or hard to move. Maybe there is a spring in the switch that is getting weak?

Thanks for your help so far.

The button should be where the spring is. Far as i know there is no spring on the lever it self.

I will take a look at the switch and lever and report back when I fix it. Thanks.

I finally fixed it. I bought a new switch, but I am pretty sure after installing the new one that the old one was fine. When I loosened the screw holding the switch, I heard it click. It seemed to be adjustable, I could move the end opposite of the screw towards the front of the bike and the lights would go off. Anyway, I installed the new switch and kept the old one since it is still a good part.
