Do you have any pictures of the crack? I would just have the crack tig welded shut to stop leaks. That part of the lower case isn't a key part of the structure. Drain the oil and heat the area of the crack with mapp gas prior to welding it. A good welder will know to do that so most of the contaminants boil out of the pours of the aluminum. I had the eyelets that the frame bolts to on the upper case, and the mount for the swingarm bracket welded back together on my bike. It's been 3 years and over 15,000miles with no cracking or problems from tig welding cast aluminum.

Looking at the third and fifth picture, if you have the piece from the case have that welded/glued in and buy a replacement stator cover on ebay. You could also remove the engine and have a shop weld in a piece, then mill it flat with the existing gasket surface. Both are much cheaper than buying an entire motor. Also please turn off your caps-lock, it's synonymous with yelling.

I agree. A reputable machine shop should be able to fix that spot in the lower case. It would help if you have the piece that broke off. I had a bike that had the exact same repair and it was fine.
