Electrical issue question..
so i messed up and left my bike on without it running the other night and it killed the battery.. instead of push starting or just recharging the battery i jumped it with my truck and now im having issues
the battery dies out if im riding with my high beams
it starts up if i jump it or charge the battery.
im thinking i just get a new rectifier... im hoping i dont need a new stator.
any opinions?

Stators are easy enough to check. Put an ohm meter on it and see if the windings are any good.
My last charging issue turned out to be only the stator....

situation resolved. found a short in the ground wire in the connector to the front sub wire harness. so i added a thicker gauge ground right to the battery so the load doesn't melt it again. replaced the throttle body since the TPS sensor was bad. and then finally reset the ECU after i put it all back together. FYI when installing HIDs upgrade the relay behind the gauge.
