Default Digital gear indicator?

Has anyone ever installed a gear indicator on their bike? I've been looking for a way to help out the economy and buy something I really dont need and the indicator struck me. Anyone that has one I would love to hear about it and where you purchased it off of.

I don't have one of these, but I've also looked at them. I just am too lazy to make the proper connections. I wish that it was a plug and play system.

I just picked up a new Acumen DG8. It's just 5 wires that need to be tapped into the harness connecting to the back of your gauge cluster. There's no plug-n-play harness for any gear indicator for the 929rr because the connector type to the back of the cluster is a rare type (trust me I've looked into making my own). Install is pretty simple and just requires removal of windscreen and cluster (total of like 10 bolts). I'll write a quick guide on installation when I'm done (with real pics and not phone pics :P).

Ground - Tacho Pulse - Speedo Pulse - Neutral Light - Power/Ign Sense
DG8 -- Black - Brown - Orange - Green - Red
929 -- Green - Yellow/Green - Pink/Green - L-Green/Red - Black/Brown

I have one on my 954 don't really need it but it does help.Wiring is pretty easy the hardest part is teaching the indicator how many gears your bike has.To teach it you have to lift the rear wheel get it in gear and shift thru all the gears while running pretty scary on a bike stand.

I've heard the Acumen DG8 has a bit of a delay, is that true?

Also heard GIpro is much faster, but they don't make 'em for Honda

Yeah, but its no big deal. The delay happens when shifting gears as the clutch is pulled in delay is about 1 second.Unless you shift clutchless then no delay.

The delay is not a big deal, the higher the revs and the faster you clutch the slower the delay.
