520 Conversion or Not?

Yes, the 1000RR and new R1 make their power with a short stroke higher revving engine and they are easier on chain stretch than a ZX10R for example. But by comparison, the RC51 is very tough on a 520 conversion from what we've seen from a couple of my sponsored racers.

I did the 520 conversion on my 2001 R6 and it made a noticable difference in power even in keeping the same gearing. That will be one of the first mods I do to the 929 I just bought when I get ~$200 that I don't know what to do with.

my question isn't about the 520 conversion, but about the speedo healer. how does it work? is cut-and-splicing required or is it a simple plug swapping mod? is it adjustable or does it come preprogrammed for the gearing that you specify when ordering?
