Default noob question

I just picked up a 01 929 that is a CA bike. Anyone have experience taking all the emissions crap off? Is it worth it in terms of power gain? Any pitfalls I need to look out for? Thanks in advance.

Default RE: noob question

i live in indiana so there's little chance of me seeing a california model, but i do know that the service manual that i have says that there is only 1 horsepower difference between the cal model and the 49 state model. i also know that when i was shopping around for aftermarket exhausts, there were many that were cal model specific. some even stated that they were for all models other than the california model. don't know the real difference, but its worth keeping in mind when buying aftermarket parts.
