Default 2001 CBR 929 Fighter build

Well for anybody who missed my post in the noobies thread, my winter project has begun. I picked up this 2001 CBR 929 with less than 7000kms...dirt cheap... It was missing most of its fairings which gave me the desire to build my second streetfighter.

My first one was a 1997 Suzuki Bandit 600. It was very light and nimble, and after modifying the carb set-up to a gsxr set-up and throwing a short stack on I was able to get up to 242kmph. However it lacked bottom end. I made the mistake of trading it for a 1997 Honda Civic and I definately got the short end of the stick on that one.

As of right now the 929 has received new vortex clip-ons, a new vortex front master, a 58 tooth rear sprocket, a shortened yoshi pipe, and an acerbis headlight. I have removed the crash cage since the last picture (a real heat-score to have in this city).

My immediate goals are to fit an R6 tail section, polish the frame, and paint the remaining body gloss black. My new digital cluster is on its way and I guess I'll figure out the best way to mount it when it arives as my current set-up doesn't allow for much room (stay has been removed and headlight is fork-mounted).

I'll do my best to keep you all updated with my progress and I'll try to pack this full of pictures

If you have an suggestions let me know, I'm quite open to new ideas!

So what you're saying... is you want my bike? lol.

I like your taste!

Hey, you should check this out for your top triple mount. http://www.hoheydesigns.com/honda/929954.html

Will fit your vortex clips, and also be able to convert to DBB later.

or...

You can throw a 7/8 short bar thru the DBB mounts and mount your instrument cluster to that, while still using your clip-ons. Best of both worlds.

Also, I found that using the rubber boots on the Acerbis gave me very little room to route all the wiring, clutch cable, hb cable, front brake lines, damper and whatnot... so I used some parts from Ace and Home Depot to step the headling assembly out just a little bit. Worked great... so if you want to use that idea I can send you pics of the parts I used, and how it looks.

Here's a pic of mine... I put a list of my mods by catagory after the pic. So might give you some more ideas.

Wow, great minds think alike hey haha?! Awesome looking bike man. Making space on the front while keeping it looking clean is one of my larger obstacles to overcome in this build so a picture of your mounting system for the headlight would be greatly appreciated!
That Hoheydesigns site has some pretty good stuff, especially for the triple tree. The DBB mount would hold my digi nicely. Thos look like ProTaper bars flipped upside down on your bike. How do you like the feel of them? Thanks for the picks, good to have another fighter around
