Default Trunk on my 900rr hard to open

Hello everyone, I just bought a 1993 Honda CBR 900rr that went down pretty hard by the 2nd to last owner.

Bike went down on the left side, and while the stator wasn't cracked (just ground down) and the fairings slightly cracked, the rear trunk is now hard to open.

When I look at the rear of the bike it looks like it is slightly pushed to the right now.

Does this mean the frame has been damaged? How do I get the bike trunk to be alligned and to open/close properly? Thanks

To open the trunk I have to sorta push down and turn at the same time.

If you still manage to open it, there shouldn't be a big problem. Try to re adjust the position of the lock first.

Okay thanks.

It's not that hard to open, just a little bit of pushing and twisting.

I just want to restore this bike to 100 percent stock condition and like-new condition eventually.

Yes, I went through the same thing. I thought my subframe was bent...it wasn't.

The spring that lifts the rear seat it is too strong--and it's not in the middle, so when the seat is closed, it pushes up the right side just enough to make the whole tail look skewed.

I turned the spring on it's side so it doesn't push--but now I have to lift the seat by hand.

Unless it was rear-ended, a crash shouldn't really affect the opening of the seat. Try adjusting the latch a little or use some WD-40 where the flange thing turns.
