Default Suspension Settings? - (sorry)

I am new to the forum and new to the 900 also and I am wondering if someone can help me get the suspension set up properly? I did a search and found lots of info - but still not sure - so I am sorry to bore you guys with an old topic. I weigh around 215#. Some posts said to put everything as stiff as possible? And I know you are supposed to measure sag and all that - the rear end seems to sag the right amount, but the front forks don't even look like they are moving? They are showing 6 lines?

Just from my first rides it seems like the bike "clunks" on bumps - mostly at the front end. Sorry I am just plain stupid when it comes to suspension.

Anyway - if anyone can give me a quickie set-up so I can have a baseline to go from?

Thanks in advance and great forum by the way - I am looking forward to getting to know this bike.

Default RE: Suspension Settings? - (sorry)

What year is your bike?

The whole suspension set up can very confusing. Setting the suspension to be stiff as ever is not so accurate. If you are a hard rider and won't miss any twisties then its ok. If not its vice versa.

Try to adjust the dampener where there will be Soft & Hard indication. I believe your front suspension is to stiff and hard. Try to reduce the rings to 3 or 4. It will take time to get a perfect set up.

But if your suspensions are faulty, (Not enough oil, damaged bush, bent, leaking etc) then you can't do much. Its better to send to a qualified workshop to do it properly once for all.

Good luck.
