Sticky throttle

Well I'm not sure if this is due to me having taken my carbs off or because it fell over and bashed the handle bars but my throttle now closes very sowly when I let off. It's too the point where if I go %100 throttle and just let off the bike will bouce off the rev limiter for a sec then SLOWLY drop in rpm down to idle.
I took off my throttle and greased everything up but that didn't help and it has never done it before. I noticed the plastic sleave that is the throttle is all bashed up on the end. Is it possible that it's now not quite round and is binding up on the bar? From what I remember working the carbs manually they snap back closed by themselves so I think it might be the cables (but like I said it was fine before) or the bar because it fell, but I really have no clue. Thanks in advance for the help.
P.S. Anyone have a 98 throttle for sale?

Sounds logical. You might also check to see if the grip is rubbing on anything. On my bike, the grip was barely able to touch the bar end, but it was enough that I'd have a 2 second lag before the throttle would close itself. Then I just backed the bar end out with a couple very small washers so that when it's bolted in, it will not touch the grip.
