Shift Drum Replacement
Hey guys,
New to the forum but owner of my cbr900rr of about 7 years now since the resto.
I've had the bike slipping into neutral very frequently, which with old bikes isn't something new to me. Sometimes purely rider error, so I've installed a 96 shift rod so I had better adjustability and also got a quickshifter installed, all smaller fixes to make shifting smoother.
I've had it keep slipping since and thinking the shift drum is the next thing i need to look at... i wondered if this is a split case job, or am I able to reach it from behind the clutch basket. In the schematics, it suggests it is exterior of the casing as there is a bearing behind it. Love go hear your thoughts.
Also curious to know, when i lock into 2nd gear, it doesnt always spring back down slight after execting the gear change, and it kind of jist sits there and i have to smash it a few times until it slips down again. VERY annoying, and assume this is again a culprit of the shift drum.
Also anyone want to link up, you can reach me on instagram: samcartrr as I am way more active acre.
