I have a serious problem My battery continues to die I replaced the recitor and after a day or due of a fully
charged battery it dies on me constantly. what should I do

 

Sounds like you need to do a charging system Alternator check on your system. You should pick up a manual. It shows you in section 15-1 the proper measurements of amps between terminals, batteries, and alternator(stator)


Example:
1. disconnect ground wire from battery and connect Amp meter to ground cable and batter (-) negative post - check that you get 0.1 mA max

if correct, move on to 2.

2. place both ends of amp meter on each battery post and inspect regulated voltage (13.0 - 15.5V @5,000 rpm) = if correct, check battery usinf a battery tester

- Check voltage/rectifier

if 2 is incorrect:
- The system is not charging

Your bad rectifier may have overcharged the battery. This happened to me twice. Each time this occurs, some capacity of the battery is lost. Sometimes it seems to happen gradually, other times it happens very quickly.Eventually, all is lost. I went through two batteries before I figured out the problem.

Do you have a firend with a bike that can test the battery for you? I bet it won't idle for more than a few minutes.

yea i think the battery is toast...it may say full but won't hold a charge for long.
