I am thinking about going to look at a 96 CBR 900RR and had a few questions. First off which motor do these have the newer or older version?? Also is there any thing special to look out for??

IT HAS CARBON FIBRE D&D PIPE, TINTED WINDSCREEN, FLUSH MOUNTS. RASH ON ONE SIDE (RIGHT SIDE), ONE MIRROR MISSING GLASS. GOOD RUBBER. MOTOR HAS BEEN TWEAKED A BIT

It also has been converted to a 17" wheel and has 20 000KM's.

The 96 has the 919cc motor. Nothing really special to watch for. If it has had major motor work, just make sure it is all sound. If it has a pipe, what about a jet kit? And who did it? How bad is the rash? Who did the 17" conversion and was it from an F3? Just quesitons to ask. Good luck. Also, check the steering stops to make sure they arent busted. Sure sign of a bad crash.

 

i always look to see if they idle good, then hold the throttle open at about 3000 rpms and see if it stays even in run, blip the throttle to see if there is any flat spots
