Default more juice

i'm facing the same problem i believe we've all come up on with the whole carb. vs fuel inj. battle. i love my 900 but it seems like it a little embarressing when a newer 600 can almost destroy me(doesn't help that hes about 120-150 lighter than me either)
basically what i'm asking is it worth it to keep plugging away at goodies for my bike or turn to the fuel injected side?
i've already dropped a tooth up front and plan on upgrading my rear sprocket too
i was planning a 2brothers jet kit and new exhaust
but past that i'm kinda at a stand still
please help! you guys/gals give awesome advice too

I think if you are being beat by a 600 you are shifting wrong. You shift too early you're going to lose to just about anyone. You need to stay in gear to just about redline and you will be untouchable in a straight away.

Stay with what you have! I have a 97 and i put the FACTORY PRO- plus 4 advancer & carb kit with air box mod. & detent with shift kit. Im running 162 main jets and i have Dana coils. All 954's with a pipe and powercommander have to really be on the game to stay with me.. I droped one tooth in the front and up two in the rear bike flys all the way to 155-160 . Rev your bike till it hits the rev limiter and hold some pressure on your shifter when it hit the limiter it will slap into the next gear Bam.. make emm catch ya. RIDE IT!

A 600 can't touch my 900, no way even come close and I've raced alot of bikes. I don't know if you guys have ever tryed a g-tech or a d-tech by auto meter but this 1/4 mile gauges are pretty accurate for et and G force. I have a D-tech because it is self leveling and I try it on my bike everytime I make changes. Johnny

i'm just coming to the realization of my early shifting, cause i'm usually a very reserved rider and will be that way. i'm just breaking in running my gears full out, bounced the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd but didn't stay with it thru 3rd. kinda still getting a better feel for maintaining that higher speed 120 plus. i've touched triple digitsa couple of times but usually back out of it(not enough runway for me)
i appreciate all the great feed back! it helps that i seen a zx14 get dyno'd today and it was very disappointing that my buddy's zx10 will definately destroy it with the numbers it put up 172 top speed and 157hp i think, but he had a 2 brothers exhaust and dropped a tooth of the front sprocket. if i can get my hp close to about 130-ish i'll be more than happy!

i've been riding some what blind i just replaced the bulb for my tach, i usually go widde open later at nite on deserted roads with no possible traffic/pedestrians/animals.
so i got a chance to see my shift points alot clearer, i've also dropped a tooth up front.
ya'll got excuse me i'm still a newbie, a little over a year riding experience
so i'm definately not ready for the bottle but have definately thought about it

Sounds like you know whats up now!
Just keep working on your shifting and you'll be fine. I've tried to switch back to 600s for insurance reasons but can't do it. They just don't have the raw power!
