engine removal lock nut wrench tool
hello, i have a 1996 cbr 900rr that needs an engine overhaul. there is a special tool that is needed to remove the engine, a lock nut wrench honda part # o7hma-mr70200 is needed and the cost is 64 dollars. is this a "special tool" that is the only thing that will work, or can i use a universal tool that will work? any info will be appreciated. thank you.
I cannibalized an old craftsman socket. Just got my dremel with the sawblade on it and cut out the negative image of the lock nut. Very simple to do if u got a dremel or somethin like that. LMK if u still have troubles and I'll try and snap a pic for ya.
I actually replaced my '99 engine with a '96, so I know exactly what you are talking about. I took a flathead screwdriver and a hammer and loosened that puppy up. Its actually pretty simple, but the first few turns are hard. I was also breaking my head for a while, trying to find the "special" tool. Good luck!
