Default oil filter removal tool

evening

cant seem to get a grip of the oil filter. I have a chain type too but it is difficlut to fit. what is the size for the "cup" type filter remover? I m not sure if all these filters are the same size? I have bought an after market filter but pretty sure its thye same as original

I use a filter pliers. Works every time.

You could just drive a screw driver into it. It's a little messy, but it's not like you need to save the filter.

I use one of the 'cup' removal tools for the CBR1000Fs

Marked KD 3253 USA. It is 65mm between the flats.

Yes I've used hammer and driver before but worried might crack the alloy

I've used the hammer and spike method on my bike, on my truck I can just use my hands as long as I'm wearing gloves. Now I have the cup style too but its metal not plastic and it works without fail every time.

yes ive manage to use hands on the cb 500 but on the cbr shes a little tight, might try those pliers they look pretty cool

I ended up using a chain tool until it sliced into the old filter, then it finally gripped.

I use an oil filter strap wrench. The rubber strap doesn't cut into the filter housing and I just use the wrench to turn it slightly to get things started and then unscrew it by hand.
