dumb question?
I really hope you got this bike for free! Sounds like and F---ing nightmare. That being said you need to get a manual and start from the top. Every possible explaination has been covered in this post so far and you need to go step by step through them. As I see it at this point you have the starter engaging and spinning the motor, you have fuel flow to the carbs, and your carbs have been thoroughly cleaned and gone through? If all thats good then you should getting something. Let me know where you stand with this little project.
the problem was it needed a new petcock and has to be started w/the clutch in and in neutral. the dam switches are a pain in the a@s, starts right up and shifts great. thanks for all the advice.
Starting with an impact wrench does sound a little scary. What if it works and the motor takes off? impact wrenches really don't turn that fast, what if it doesn't disengage from the bolt easily? You have any kids? If you do ask one of them to try it and let me know how it works out. Ha ha ha.
yea, it did sound kinda scary, what can i say i was desperate. well thank god i didnt have to resort to something like that. oh yea my kids are too smart for that, they are not as dumb as i am.
