Default Clutch Problem

I bought a 1998 as a project to put back together and have sumtin to ride since I sold my r6 a while back. While I was putting it back together I have noticed theres sumtin wrong with the clutch it doesnt want to engage or disengage idk which... When I try to get that rod to go down into the clutch case it seems to click in just fine but when I hook everything up it feels like theres no clutch... Can any1 help me out?

Worn clutch basket?

I remember reading about that before. I'm no mechanic, just trying to help you out.

a worn basket won't cause you to "have no clutch". You have it put together wrong, mix-matched parts, worn parts, missing parts, or all of the above. Buy a factory service manual, study it and take your time. And buy a torque wrench for the hub nut and 5 springs if you wanna do it right.
