Normally I can just keep the gas cap open for a few seconds, then close it and it will fire up. I tired what you suggested and this also seemed to work. I just pulled the plugs and they are beat up, but all equally . Here is a pic of one.

I ordered new plugs today, should be here Saturday.

Does anyone have any good instructions on how to drain the float bowls? I keep reading that I might need to drain these.

So I finally got this bad *** working. I pulled all the plugs and they were in decent shape but all evenly worn. Put new plugs in, changed all the rubber hoses for fuel/air under the air box, drained the float bowls, pulled the carbs and just cleaned the ever living crap out of them. Put it all back together and no issues at all! bike fires up, stays running and is running wicked strong. Thanks for all the help guys, i'm back on the road and loving it.
