Default Battery suggestions

Ok members, here what happen. I strip bike down for thorough cleaning, shave peg, minor body work...then install some led light, next thing it's been 3 weeks since I fire the bike. So okay today, I will fire her up so battery won't die. Pull choke, first crank, I know battery weak, 2nd crank, dead.

The battey I have was install back in 07/2008, so I want suggestion? Should I take battery to autozone for a free charge, should I replace it since it's already 4 years in 3 months?

Should I try jump it with a car (off)

I try push start but I think I may have flooded it with the choke. And I live on a hill so if I retry, and fail, you know the story...

Should I get a tender for $25?

Let me know what you guys think?

Yep, get the battery tender. Its a great little device that will pay for itself. Anyway, hook it up to your bike & let it fully charge. Then start it up. From now on, any time you're going to have the bike sit, you can just plug it up to the tender & keep it fresh.

harbor freight has a great battery tender on sale for 5 bucks right now. I used it all last winter with no problems. Cant beat the price just splice in a 2 pin connector and spade terminals on the battery end and make it a quick disconnect style.

I just got one of those battery tender. Just hook it up. But I looked at manual, says only work to hold fully charge battery? Does not work on a discharge (low) dead battery!

Is this true?

If yes, can i jump cable with my car (engine off) ....will a car battery fried bike's electrical!

Is it "Deltran - Battery Tender" brand? Here's their FAQ page... Frequently Asked Questions - Batterytender.com

I've used my tender to charge batteries that were so low they wouldn't start on their own...cars too.

If the battery is truly dead, nothing will bring it back.

Yes, you can jump via car OFF & you'll be fine.
