I bought my 96 CBR900 just recently and it has a bar end on the left grip but doesn't have one on the right (throttle) grip. I took the left bar end off and tried to put it on the right side and it doesn't fit. The bolt is too thin. Does the right side use a thicker bolt? I want to buy a new pair of bar ends but I'm not sure if they come in different sizes.

 

I can't imagine them being any different. I have the same bike that you do and my bar end weights use a 6X65 oval screw on each bar. This same part number: 90191-KBG-000,is used on CBR's up to the modern bikes and they are all the same size. A good reference for parts is on www.crotchrocket.com as they have micro fiche online. if it is to small for the throttle side u could possible have a stripped out clip on.
