Default Yoshi header corrosion

So, I was looking at the headers to my full yosh exhaust, and I saw that they were heavily corroded. So, I pulled them off and started using a stainless steel safe metal polish. Anyhow, I got around to wondering how I should protect them from future corrosion. Any suggestions? I was thinking I should take some high temp paint to them...

I know this may sound dumb but what type of corrosion are you experiencing? One thing I know is you need to make sure the pipes are clean when you install them, the oils from your hands alone can corrode a stainless pipe when it heats up.

yea, ive had that happen, eventually after a few times scrubbing it it seems to have subsided. If i were you go to your local auto parts store, im sure they have some type of protectant or something. If you get something try it in a small spot you cant see unless looking for it, so that way if for some reason it doesnt work, you dont ruin any of your bikes asthetics.

Get it coated by a header company. All automotive headers out have a painted or coated option. Its exspensive but it works.
