The X factor tonight...
I really havent had a chance to ride with anyone since I got my new bike two weeks ago, until tonight that is.
You will have to understand I went from my 87CBR which I had for nine years to the 07 600RR. We started out about 6:30 in perfect weather, 73 degrees and absolutely no wind. Took off about 15 miles to the gas station where we tanked up and headed off to the limited twisties of eastern south dakota. The roads were clean from a hard downpour two nights ago and completly deserted. Every turn of the road we came to be embedded into my mind and exactly the line I wanted to take. The bike seemed to be attached to every nerve in my body, just pure riding bliss. Heading into the 4 miles of 90 and 45 degree turns, everything was absolutely perfect. Everything else in the world melted away besides the bike and the road. I could feel the dunlops grabbing at the edge of the road projecting me from corners, each one becoming more and more exhilerating.
I am not sure how else to describe it besides pure riding enjoyment. Its the reason I ride and will continue to ride. Its the X factor.
