RE: whats is an ignition advance
i did a search on the web to find out more info on it cause I'm still not sure how it works, and what the cons are. Some people (especially the yamaha guys) say that it doesn't do anything. How many people use it and is it definately worth it. Basically, will it hurt to try, or to use for a prolonged length of time?

I havent tried it yet, but it's not going to hurt anything to try. You're out $40 if you dont like it. I have only heard a few say they think it cost them power, but they are going by the seat of pants dyno. Everyone I've seen that dynoed the bike afterwards say it either helped power output some, or smoothed out the power band. Wont hurt to try it. And no, pro longed use wont hurt anything. Your timing is probably retarded a touch too much so it will pass emissions from the factory. All it does is advance your timing 4 degrees. It will fire the cyclinder 4 degrees earlier in the crank rotation as opposed to stock. Say stock is 32 degrees before TDC, this will make it 36 before TDC. Usually equals more power. Longer, more burn on the combution stroke.

RE: whats is an ignition advance
bro I have contacted several people about this particular IAU for an 05 600RR. No luck at all. Im thinking our best and only bet is to buy the dyno jet ignition box. Its tuneable up to ten degrees forward or backward in the crank cycle. Its pretty pricey though, btw $300 and $350 depending on where you get it.... OH yeah and you have to have the power commander, its a piggy back style style system
