Trip/reset buttons
I have an 03 600rr that the trip/reset buttons stopped working. Got on here and found out it was a pretty common thing. Since I dont have a warranty on my bike I had to take it into my own hands to fix it. I did some research and saw that a lot of people just worked the lil white pieces back into place and reglued them. I tried that but it lasted all of about 5 minutes. So this was my fix action when my buttons fell out. Had to take pretty much the whole front of the bike off just so you can get the instrument cluster out. There are 3 main screws that hold the cluster to the frame. Then there are about 6 screws that hold the cluster together. There is one center screw that holds the spedometer part together, you dont need to remove that screw to get the job done. I know this is a pretty ghetto fix but it has been over a week and about 300 miles and it's still working. If you cant tell that is a drinking straw that used to hold those white pieces in place. If you wanted you could use a dab of glue to hold everything together, I did not. If you have any questions just let me know. BTW, from start to finish took all of about an hour. Could be done in less if you already know how to take the front farings off.

cool post, i hope mine doesnt break, i hate takeing plastics off, every time it feels like they get ****tier and ****tier as a result of my fumbling around with them.
great DIY section thread because i am sure a shop would charge you a left nut to glue a peice of straw in there for you.
