So i just bought a 2003, yellow/gray and i went to adjust the time and reset the trip and i hold down the 2 buttons with key in "ON" and got nothing.

So i read someplace that someone took off the rubber cover for the buttons, so i took mine off and there are 2 white peices of plastic laying down in the bottom.

I couldnt find anything to stick in there and grab onto them and put them back on the actual buttons, and im not sure how hard taking off the cover of the display is so i can get them.

If anyone can help me out that would be great.

If you ever get the front fairing off, you can take the gauge cluster apart and glue them back on like I did, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do it, unless I have to take off the front fairing.

 

I got mine out w/ the cluster on the bike but it was a pain in the ****. Find yourself a right angle and a straight pick. It'll take lots of time and patience but that's how I got mine back out.
