Default adj and reset buttons not working

Hey guys,

I just got my bike back from the shop, I had them install resistors on my front turn signals. Anyway, I get the bike back and a day or so later I noticed the clock isn't set right. So I try to reset it and turns out my adjust and reset buttons on the speedometer aren't responding when i push them. The clock still works and everything but the two buttons don't work? The buttons also do'nt work whenI try to reset my odometer orswitch betwee mph or kph. Any ideas?

Thanks

Yes, I had them throw them on while getting other work done to my bike. And yes I have set the clock before dude, cmon. If you have any idea what might be causing the buttons not to work please lemme know....this is vvery aggravating.

Thanks

Whoa there man, take it easy. He was just asking simple questions to rule out other possibilities.

Yes, I've heard of this problem a lot on the 1000RR's. The rubber buttons actually can be pulled off. If these are loose and you're washing your bike, water can get down inside...causing the buttons to fail.

Unfortunately.........this usually means they're permanently broken. Which also means the entire cluster (or at least the circuit board the buttons are connected to) will have to be replaced. If it's still under warranty.....I'm pretty sure it's covered. Just take it to the shop, show them it doesn't work, and they should take care of it.

Mine is having that problem, its because the little plastic stoppers behind the rubber buttons broke off possibly. Pull the buttons off and check. If there is no plastic "tower" looking thing under the buttons, they broke. Just stick your key in there and depress the button that way, itll work.
