Default Thinking about a new cbr600rr

I've been thinking about getting a motorcycle forever and 2 of my best friends have them. So i went out to look at them and a brand new cbr600rr is 7,800 plus tags etc. I was wondering if that is a good price and it would be my first bike. I would have it lowered 1" seeing how i don't like being on my tippy toes im about 5'7. I live in NJ and was hoping to get it in NJ but the both the places that have them for 7,800 are in NY and PA. Do does anyone know any cheap places to buy a cbr in NJ.

I dont have any ideas what the price are in the US. I got my CBR600RR as my first bike, Basically I walked into my local honda dealer expecting to buy a Hornet, in the back of my mind I always wanted a Fireblade. I had a long discussion wether I should get a Hornet or a CBR600RR. I just felt that a firblade is just way too intimidating. In the end I settle on the RR. I am 5'7 as well and I didnt adjust the suspension. I thought that this might upset the balance of the bike. After a while the suspension sets a bit but I think you can adjust your riding syle to suit the height of the bike. just my 2 cents.

that sounds about right for the going price for a new 600RR. 5'7 is tall enough to ride w/o lowering but if you feel more comfortable lowering it.. then do so. the bike can always be raised back up again in the future.
