Default Thinking of buying a CBR600RR

Hello Everyone!

I'm thinking of buying a 2005 or 2006 CBR600RR. This is going to be my first bike and wanted get some opinions on the bike before I make the jump.

What kind of experience do you have?

You're in the wrong place if you are looking for negative feed back on the RR. But tell us what you are looking for in a bike and maybe we can help.

Make sure you are comfortable while on the RR. I see a lot of folks mention that because of the more aggresive seat position, they can be uncomfortable (I don't know from experience). The F4i may be more comfortable, and cheaper. They only thing is you have to get rid of that nasty undertail...looks like elephantitis. Anyway, you may have some naysayers about starting on that bike, but ultimately it is your decision. I would suggest getting a used bike. I bought a new bike this year (first bike) and was backed into. It sure sucked having to spend about $1500 in repairs on a bike I just spent $8000 on. Good luck.

I almost bought a 600RR but decided against it only because of the comfort level. I don't know your dimensions phillyrider but I'm 6'2" and about 215 (diesel LOL). The RR's higher footpegs and lower handlebars put too much pressure on my palms and family jewels. If the bike fit me I would have def bought the RR, it's bad ***.

Also think about the type of riding you will do. If you are lucky enough to have some twisty open road, then the RR can't be beat, if you are going to use it for running around town like me, look at the F4i (more comfortable). Both bikes are a lot for a beginner to handle so stay focussed and be careful.
