should i start out with a cbr 600?
im with ducbob on this one, i think nomatter what you buy if you dont lose respect for the bike you sont have a problem, you an get yourself in just as big of trouble on a 250 if you dont have respect for the power bikes have, and ya you need alittle more if your first bike is supersport, but bout all of my buddies started out on 750s or 1000s and they are fine, if you can keep your right hand in check then go for it and buy the 600rr if not dont buy a bike at all you can hurt yourself on anything no matter what size it is
I agree get what you want and get what your heart desires. Just be safe, know your limits and enjoy the ride. I don't regret a single day after purchasing my cbr 600. I dont' have any trouble with it either, I can ride and I don't ever expect to go down. I think safe and ride smart and I have the big man on my side...including outstanding coaches. Don't let these other people get you down, advice is always good, but if you think you can handle the bike then get it!

yeaaaaaa..thatsthe spirit...so get an 07 cbr1000, ill be waiting for the leftovers, cuz that attitude will get you dead quickly.
My first bike was the 07 rr and i had to read and listen to all the negative comments on how it's not a bike for beginners etc... Horse ****.. I find it very comfortable, and easy to handle... Get what you want.. if you think you are a responsible person then bye all means get the 600rr, dont let others sway you. ...

Don't get a bike then ... you'll be dead before you know it. .. .Or if you do .. get the '07 CBR600rr so I can have some spare parts. ALWAYS Ride within YOUR Limits.

If you already know you're not going to ride within your limits, you're pretty much dead. It'll be that time you're flying into a turn, realized you're going a bit too fast for that right hander, and are too newb to lean it over farther and go over the yellow line only to have that soccer mom in that large SUV run you over head on.
if you feel the need to get a bigger bike go with a buell 500 or a ninja 500.......
they both have bigger engine and are very usable on the highway but neither of them have EVEN THE BEGINNINGS of a track bike.....
most of the new honda's can be put straight to the track and win races (with the propper fairings and items removed of course O AND SAFETY GEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
DO NOT BUY A 600 HONDA AS YOUR FIRST BIKE PLEASE....
