Default Should I buy 600rr with no title for cheap?

Not sure if this is the right thread. A guy is selling a super nice 600rr with 12k miles with no title and not registered to him for $2000. Looked up the vin and it hasn’t been reported stolen. Gonna have the local Honda dealership thoroughly check it out. If the bike is mechanically good would you all consider buying?

No idea what its like where you are, but....

When I bought my bike the guy didn't have an ownership and never registered it in his name. Its obviously not ideal , and seems shady as hell but I went to the M.T.O with the vin and had it checked out. It came back clean and I had to sign an affidavit and had no issue transferring the bike to my name and plating it.

Having said that , I would be seriously cautious about going through with buying it. It worked out for me , but I have seen guys end up losing their money and the bike or car when something went wrong. You have no real way to verify any story the guy gives you. Can sound legit but still be bull sh***.

When you say you looked up the VIN do you mean on one of the online websites? those really aren't reliable, all they can tell you for sure is that the owner DID report it to them. It cant really tell you that it hasn't been reported to the police though. Go to the MTO DMV what ever its called in your area.
Does the bike have the keys ?
Any damage to the ignition?
Is it out in plain sight for sale? or tucked away in a back yard shed some where ...

Some times its better to walk away from what looks like a sweet deal rather than get screwed.
